Commencement 2008
You've already applied to graduate, and you're counting the days until your last final exam. What comes next? Commencement, of course!
On May 3 you'll have the opportunity to walk across Tom Adams Field at Wayne State to celebrate with fellow graduates, teachers, administrators, family and friends.
Commencement begins at 11 a.m., but you'll need to be at the Matthaei Building by 9:30 a.m. What else should you know? Visit www.commencements.wayne.edu for all of the latest information.

Make a Video - Win a Prize
Tell us about your favorite memory at Wayne State. Make a video (you even can use your cell phone or digital camera) and send it to sarah.freeman@wayne.edu.
We'll upload your video to our new YouTube site, and you'll be entered to win a custom diploma frame (a $95 value) to display your Wayne State diploma with pride. Click here to watch a video with more information.
Not a videographer? Send us a photo in front of your favorite place on campus along with a short story about what it means to you. You also will be entered into the drawing - and submissions will be used in an upcoming issue of the award-winning Wayne State magazine.
Diploma frames also are available for purchase at Grad Expo and at Alumni House on campus. Call (313) 577-2300 for more information.

Get the answers and more (including how to “accessorize” properly with the right resume) at the Women of Wayne Career Seminar.
The seminar will be from 4-6 p.m. March 26 at Alumni House. Light refreshments will be served.

Warrior Corner
Meet Derek Michael Ranck, an electrical and computer engineering major from Clarkston, Mich., who shares some pre-graduation thoughts with us.
Generation Wayne: What are your plans after graduation?
Ranck: I plan on getting having an internship with an automotive company by the time I graduate, and will try to get a full time job with the same, or possibly a different company after I finish getting my degree.
Generation Wayne: What is your best memory of Wayne State?
Ranck: I think hanging out with my friends and teammates here at Wayne has been the most fun for me.
Generation Wayne: What are you going to miss most about Wayne State?
Ranck: I am going to no doubt miss my friends, teammates, and coaches I’ve met during my time here. Most of all I will miss playing baseball with teammates, which I’ve gotten to know like brothers here.
Generation Wayne: What activities/student organizations are you involved in at Wayne State?
Ranck: I am a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and was part of the Wayne State Student Center Committee.
Generation Wayne: What is your favorite place to hang out on campus?
Ranck: My friends’ apartments or teammates’ house on campus is always a lot of fun.
Generation Wayne: Any parting thoughts?
Ranck: Playing baseball at Wayne State has been the best time of my life. I have enjoyed the good times, and learned from the hard ones. The friendships I have made with my classmates, teammates and coaches will last forever and I could not be more happy with my decision to come to Wayne State.
