President Irvin D. Reid and the presidents of Michigan State University and the University of Michigan testified before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education in February and followed with an appearance before the House’s counterpart in April.
The three schools are partners in the University Research Corridor, and their presidents outlined the way in which contributions made by higher education in scientific research, the health sciences and innovative technology are powerful catalysts for stimulating Michigan’s lagging economy.
