Get cooking with Giulio Live! a series of culinary adventures with Wayne State Alumni and AVI Fresh.

He’s not Emeril, but he’s the next best thing! Join campus executive chef for AVI Fresh, Giulio Fattore, as he whips up a variety of culinary masterpieces. Watch and learn, then sample his creations: a four-course Italian meal, Sweetest Day confections and a holiday-inspired brunch. The adventure continues long after you leave, as you’ll take home Giulio’s secret recipes and a special gift compliments of the alumni association and AVI Food Systems.

Each culinary adventure begins at 1 p.m. at the Towers Hall Café. Cost for each session is $58 per person. Alumni association members only. Space is limited, and reservations are required.

A Regional Taste of Italy
Saturday, Sept. 20
Learn the secret to preparing melone alla griglia con prosciutto di parma (roasted melon and prosciutto salad with arugala, olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette); pollo Tosco con la salsa di limone (chicken Tosco with lemon caper sauce); pasta alla casalinga (homemade pastas); and dolce vita (tiramisu and espresso coffee).

Fall Harvest Fare
Saturday, Oct. 18
It’s Sweetest Day, so indulge your sweetheart – and your sweet tooth – with autumn squash soup with vanilla crème and served in an acorn squash bowl; baby green salad with pear, goat cheese, dried cherries and honey vinaigrette; Cabernet braised beef short ribs with rosemary roasted root vegetable, perfect whipped potatoes, braised red cabbage and natural jus; and apple pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting and cinnamon sauce.

A Holiday Brunch
Saturday, Nov. 15
Make the season bright with a wedge salad with blue cheese dressing, tomato, cucumber and onion; banana nut stuffed French toast with vanilla crème anglaise; and eggs benedict with turkey sausage, tomato, spinach and herbed hollandaise sauce.
