Join alumni of Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University, Michigan State University, University of Michigan and Western Michigan for this year's Black Alumni Weekend.

Black Alumni Weekend is a weekend series of events hosted by the Southeastern Michigan Coalition of Alumni Associations, whose primary purpose is to amplify and enhance higher learning opportunities for students in the Southeastern Michigan region.  SEMCAA is comprised of the local chapters of Wayne State University, Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University and Western Michigan University, which work together to provide financial support for students seeking the means to attend college.

Wayne State University’s Evening of Elegance Honoree is Dr. Phyllis Vroom, Wayne State University’s first African-American female deputy president and past interim president.

The itinerary for the BAW weekend is below.

Special for Wayne State alumni: pay only $65 ($80 value) for the entire weekend, if you purchase tickets in advance. Otherwise, tickets may be available at the gate for individual purchase until supplies run out.

Alumni in the Park - Belle Isle by the lighthouse
12 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Activities include food, music, voter registration/education, fun for kids and more
