Join the Wayne State University Alumni Association for Saving for College 101: Investing in Their Future by Gary Bice, Senior Vice President, Wealth Management, UBS Financial, and Shane Russell from American Funds from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16 at the Birmingham Athletic Club.
is the Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at UBS Financial Services. Gary is the lead investment strategist responsible for non-core asset selection at UBS Financial Services and heads up the tactical team for fixed income management.
Previously he served at Morgan Stanley from 1994 to 2009 and Prudential Securities from 1985-1994. He holds bachelors of art degree in Economics from Wayne State University and he was voted 'Top 40 Financial Advisors’ for Crain’s Detroit Business in both 2007 and 2008. In addition, he is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) Candidate.
Gary lives in Bloomfield Hills with his wife Wendy and three children. He is a member of the Birmingham Athletic Cub and Wayne State University Athletic Hall of Fame. Gary also serves on the Karmanos Cancer Institute and Wayne State University Planned Giving Committees. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, woodworking and all genres of music.
joined American Funds Distributors, Inc. as a wholesaler in May 2012. He is responsible for the sales and distribution of American Funds through financial professionals within the Metro Detroit Market.
Prior to joining the American Funds Team, Shane worked 11+ years as a wholesaler with BlackRock. In total, he has over 15 years of financial industry experience. Shane received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Michigan. Additionally, he holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 registrations. Shane is a Certified Investment Management Analyst, (CIMA), and a member of the Investment Management Consultant Association, (IMCA). He lives in Birmingham, MI with his wife, Liz, and four children. His hobbies include playing golf and spending time with his family.
