What:
Wayne State
Goes Hollywood

In the exciting tradition of gala premieres, awards ceremonies and red carpet walks, Wayne State is going Hollywood!

It’s a West Coast festival that will connect alumni across the country for the common purpose of celebrating Wayne, garnering support and creating energy for the future. Multiple events have been planned in the Los Angeles area for Oct. 24-26, with the centerpiece being an exclusive gala affair at the Warner Bros. Studios on Oct. 25.

Join President Irvin D. Reid and fellow Wayne alumni and friends as they gather to boost excitement and build on the momentum of Wayne First: The Campaign for Wayne State University. Wayne alumnus Ernie Hudson, ’73, who has appeared in such silver screen and television hits as Ghostbusters, Miss Congeniality, Lackawanna Blues and Desperate Housewives, will be the evening’s master of ceremonies.

Wayne State also has enlisted four well-known alumni in California to assist with making this event memorable: David Salzman, '69, executive producer of MADtv; John Richards, '74 and '03, vice president of Worldwide Creative Services for Warner Home Video; Harvey Gettleson, '75 and '77, CFO of Lexington Ventures L.L.C.; and Casey Kasem, '57, radio and television personality.

The evening’s festivities will include remarks from President Reid, a screening of a special Wayne State video and plenty of West Coast delicacies! You will also have the opportunity to get an insider’s look behind the scenes at Warner Bros. – one of the world’s busiest movie and television studios.

Make the Warner Bros. gala and the other once-in-a-lifetime Wayne State University events we have planned for you part of a mini-vacation in Hollywood, the land of the stars. If you can’t meet us in Los Angeles, join us in Las Vegas or Phoenix as we continue the festivities!
